Yesterday’s foray into beach sports was so exciting I thought I would continue with it today, on the fourth day of our lovely Alo-Hello week. It’s perfect too, because today it’s rain-snowing and generally miserable.
It’s time for the beach-flag competition on Momusu’s Alo-Hello3.
It’s been a couple of years at this point since the group has done one of these. On the first day of the trip they have some fun on the beach and one of the events is beach-flag. It reveals an unexpected victor.
We all know that Shige has a weakness for cute things, but since Yossy left, we’ve forgotten that she also has a weakness for athletes…

On our third day, I’m sticking with Morning Musume’s Alo Hello 1, because there are just so many moments on there that I loved. The one I chose for today, however, is more of a whole segment than one moment.
Well, it’s one moment that keeps happening.
We can call it, ‘The Saga of Kaorin’s Team’.
Or perhaps, simply, ‘We’ll be fine.’
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Japanese phrases, the phrase (word?) ‘daijoubu’ means “we’ll be fine” or “it’s ok” in English. They say this a lot in this dvd, but Takahashi Ai seems to be particularly attached to the phrase.
And it’s hilarious.

New Momusu single. Dance shot.
Mini-dance battle moment with Ace and Ayumin…PWN!
Costumes remind me of Berryz for some reason.
Don’t mind the setting at all because they have so much room to dance…
LOVE the dance. Love the song. I want to take this song to the gym.
Oda’s voice is beautiful. I just wish I could see where the hell she is. Winky sort of blends in. They all do. It’s like a team effort and not just front girls with back-ups. At least that’s the feeling I got from it.
Need better quality. Now.
On the second day of this beautiful Alo-Hello week, I thought I’d go back to my beloved Morning Musume. Particularly Kamei Eri, circa 2003 (or so). And the hammock.
This moment from their Alo Hello, or the Hawaii Trials dvd, actually begins with Shige and Mame, but ends up being all about Kamei.
It’s from the photobook making-of and I dearly wish I had the actual clip…

Dear friends, I’m sick of winter. So I’ve been contenting myself with the joy and sunshine that is H!P Alo-Hello dvds. Then I had an idea: why not share some of that joy with you lovelies?
Alo-Hello, for those who aren’t aware, is basically this: a solo member or a group goes to Hawaii and shoots a photobook. There used to be events on the beach or around Hawaii also, before half of the dvd was just posing with starin’-music. There have been a lot of really funny or just really enjoyable moments throughout the years. I’m going to share some of my favourite moments or perhaps even whole sequences, depending on the day of the week.
Gonna be posting every day this week. A daunting task, but one I’m committed to because I am really frackin’ sick of winter!
Here we go!

I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of all this not-quite-winter-not-quite-spring crap. Frankly, I’m almost looking forward to the sweltering nonsense that is Canadian summer. No more grey skies and rain and snow and then ice and wind and BLEH!
Let’s watch Morning Musume be all weird and adorable and awesome (in swimsuits)!
Alo-Hello6 isn’t as exciting as some of their past ventures. It’s got exactly three “events” one of which is just them drawing. They don’t get to play around in the pool at all this time and half the dvd is just them posing by themselves.
Which is all well and good (they are beautiful, after all), but if what you really love are the activities then you might be underwhelmed.
Fortunately, our fresh, young members leap into everything with gusto and gave me not much to say on the dvd as a whole, but some spectacular caps.
Let’s close the blinds and pretend summer is here!

…Despite the picture here and the fact that she inspired this post. This is really more an excuse to talk about that lovely H!P trend of the pre-graduation power-up that always seems to happen when o+e of our girls is about to leave.
Yossy’s graduation is when I first started to notice this. I got into Momusu and Yossy about a year before she graduated. Yossy was one of those members who went through several transformations during her tenure – when she woke up one morning and decided she was made of win, it was impossible not to take notice.
It also happened with Takahashi recently.
It happened with Kamei before her.
And there was Mame…there’s really too many examples.
I’m thinking this might be the case with Mano. As she graduates in a matter of days…
