Yesterday’s foray into beach sports was so exciting I thought I would continue with it today, on the fourth day of our lovely Alo-Hello week. It’s perfect too, because today it’s rain-snowing and generally miserable.
It’s time for the beach-flag competition on Momusu’s Alo-Hello3.
It’s been a couple of years at this point since the group has done one of these. On the first day of the trip they have some fun on the beach and one of the events is beach-flag. It reveals an unexpected victor.
We all know that Shige has a weakness for cute things, but since Yossy left, we’ve forgotten that she also has a weakness for athletes…
Nobody seems to expect this, but Kamei Eri does really, really well.
She leaves everybody in the dust.
Which she seems to find hilarious. She keeps doing that laugh that I featured in day two.
Also: BOON MIC!!
Shige, on the other hand, tries her best-
But all she can do it tackle the other players trying to win.
Nobody has any idea how that even makes sense.
Shige doesn’t know either. She just hates that she’s so bad at this.
Kamei in the semi-finals is nervous, but ready to rock.
Shige is getting interested now. Eri is pretty cool today, after all…
Kamei: Triumphant again.
Takahashi: about to fall down/in pain
Kamei decides to embrace her awesomeness.
Shige wants to embrace a little something else.
Shige: *thinking* “I’m so glad we’re best friends!!!”
You can almost see the heart-bubbles floating towards Kamei.
All she can say is, “Eri sugooooooii!!”
Finally it’s down to riida and Kamei.
Shige: “I only have eyes…foooooor yooooooooou…”
Winky: “You know she can’t hear you, right?”
RUN LIKE THE WIND!!!
I know I have too many shots of Eri grabbing the flag, but I couldn’t resist this mid-fall shot of Takahashi…
Shige is composing the ballad of Eri as we speak.
Winky: “Tch. This isn’t about me.”
Shige: “I love you Eriiiiiii!!!”
Unfortunately she doesn’t have time to bask in Eri’s glow – she’s competing in the ‘loser’ finals.
Junjun looks like she’ll tackle anyone who gets close…
Koharu snatches the flag and Shige has an unreasonable request-
Losers have no shame.
If you watch the replay you’ll say the same thing we all did: Where the hell are you going, Shige?!
It’s ok though…
Kamei the champion will still be your friend.
If there is one thing that hasn’t changed in these five or six years – it’s that:
I’ll leave you and Shige with this message from Linlin:
See you tomorrow!!
