No wonder she is confused…
I really wish I wasn’t so obsessive about listening to radio rips of new singles and then playing them over and over again until the pv has much less impact than if I’d JUST WAITED…
But such is me. And now Kimagure Princess is getting the tiniest bit old. Which is odd because it was Resonant Blue style instant-love when I heard it. Considering all the slower stuff we’re getting lately from Momusu, I didn’t think that the new single would be this bouncy.

Is bouncy the word I’m looking for?

So we’ve reached the final installment (for the singles anyway) of my dance series.
As I’ve mentioned, capping these old pvs is a real delight. And since we’re moving backwards here, I think towards the beginning of Momusu’s career, the dancing becomes just a fun addition to an already wonderful pv. Case and point: every single song I’ll be talking about in this post. With their member change-ups the image always evolved, but once they settled on optimistic-genki the trend continued for quite awhile, giving us some of the funnest (yes, I said funnest) and most addictive songs in their history.
Admittedly, since their older pvs focused more on (gasp!) a plot or a bunch of hilarious randomness from the girls, the dances aren’t so heavily featured. So if this reads more like pv reviews, you’ll have to excuse me. As with “Joshi…”, really any cap is gold.
So on we go.

So we arrive at part two of my cap-fest regarding Morning Musume’s dances (part one is here). I loved watching these pvs again. This dancing thing began as a top ten and then morphed into a gushing fest, but now it’s gone on to have two parts because there is too much that is completely awesome about Momusu dancing. These routines have been done so often that you forget how awesome they actually are. When you rewatch the old pvs and see them dancing their hearts out for (arguably) the first time, you get the coreography at its freshest. I’ve never seen some of these done better than in those original dance-shot moments. That’s why I am a fan of the dance pvs and I don’t mind a lack of close-ups. One thing I discovered in my capping frenzy is that you don’t need a whole lot of set to do something amazing with a pv you just need good editing, a couple costumes and girls who don’t take themselves too seriously.
I love this group…
I’ve been watching a lot of concerts lately, some newer, quite a few older. I always forget how quickly a Momusu concert pulls me in and makes me happy within the first three numbers. There is something infectious about their energy, whether the OG members are present or not.
Watching all these performances made me want to post about dances. Naturally I stuck to pvs only, so only the singles. And that is because if I even touched on my favourite concert performances, we’d be here all year.
I cap enough already.
My initial reaction to the youtube radio rip of ‘Nanchatte Renai’ by Morning Musume was pretty much “…”
I honestly didn’t have a reaction at all, except maybe a mild “Oh…there’s a rap…kinda.” Then I saw the pv which for Isilie always means capping.

Let me guess: Makes you think of Roman My Dear Boy and/or Memory Seishun no Hikari? The setting maybe…the song itself is a different story.
…rather than taking a new direction, has Morning Musume really just begun to return to form? Their music will always have that certain flavour that we expect from them, but in terms of theme, they seem to be slowly creeping backwards.
I’ll try to make this clearer.
I couldn’t stop watching the danceshot version of their new single ‘Shouganai Yume Oibito’ when it finally came out (thanks to HelloOnline as always). Usually dance-shots merely satisfy my curiousity rather than make me think. I find it frustrating that I can only see bits and pieces of a dance in a regular pv, especially if it’s an interesting one. That’s why the “real” pv for Resonant Blue didn’t bother me. I still like that dance and I still think the pv suited it. But I’m stubborn like that, and getting off topic. I love that this dance-shot takes place in what looks like a university library. It looks like a real location rather than a back-drop, which gives it a completely different feeling. I love the soft, feminine look of them. It reminded me slightly of the Sexy Boy video, but that one didn’t have the same vulnerability I felt in this one.
Maybe it’s just shots like this one that made me feel a sense of vulnerability, but they tend to reach forward for something over and over and never reach it.

I think it’s so funny that Momusu has gotten to the point that people can start complaining that their new stuff “isn’t as good as Resonant Blue” and that song was only a couple singles ago. I can still listen to that song over and over again. It was on my playlist today while I was walking home in the rain and it created a perfect atmosphere somehow.
And that makes no sense to me because as far as repetitive pop goes…well, it’s damn repetitive. But I don’t get sick of it. I mean I don’t get sick of much, but I get mildly tired of songs sometimes and that hasn’t happened yet. RB has something I guess, because it still affects me in various ways. And it’s damn fun to sing.
Their new single, which I will go out on a limb and say is better than Naichau, is the same sort of song for me.

Damn they’re pretty…
Those pesky, Hello Project kids…I didn’t want to do this, because I have other posts that I’m looking forward to, but those aren’t ready yet. And in the interest of writing something [because I'm so congested that sleep is impossible] I’ve decided to post about Berryz Koubou…’s new single.

Dakishimete x2…
*sigh* I knew I’d end up doing this.

I was surprised when I first heard ‘Fly Away’, because it wasn’t anything like what I was expecting.
Well, it was and it wasn’t.
Based on the nails she was sporting, I expected something ridiculously Koda-esque for Goto’s “come-back”: lots of bass and dramatics and thick black eye make-up. And to certain extent that’s what I got when I saw her ‘Unrecorded’ clip.
I love the song ‘Fly Away’ a lot. I loved it instantly.
But let’s talk about the preview-thing VS the actual PV.
(thanks Hello!Online for the links)
Because Naichau Kamo’s pv really kicks.

Yes, even with Winky in the center, yet again.
It’s honestly freaking me out that I pictured these exact costumes, right down to those awesome boots. When I saw the preview, I did a double-take.
“Wait…those white jackets…the fishnets…this is what I pictured!!?”
H!P is an interesting place.
